Registered Dietitian (RD) vs. Nutritionist
What's the difference?

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a food and nutrition expert who has completed specific education, training, and passed a national licensing exam. Dietitians are regulated health professionals who are licensed to provide medical nutrition therapy.

A nutritionist is a more general term and doesn't always require formal training or certification. The term "nutritionist" is not a protected title in Ontario meaning anyone can call themselves a nutritionist without official credentials.
